A virtual tour is a digital simulation of a physical location, created using 360-degree panoramic images. Virtual tours are accessed through a website or an app, allowing users to navigate the location and explore it from any angle. To create a virtual tour, we use a specialized camera such as the Matterport 3 PRO which we use at VRtour to ensure the highest quality 3D imaging possible. The camera captures multiple images of the location from different angles, using a process called photogrammetry. The images are then combined together to create a seamless, interactive experience that allows users to explore the location as if they were physically there. Essentially, it is both a 3D scanner and a camera. It has a large lens that captures the 360° rotation of your location. Then there's a scanner, LiDAR, which measures distances in every direction.
